Toadstool Cafe prices should be planned as an itemized subtotal, with park admission and other trip costs kept separately. On the official Hollywood menu checked October 18, 2026, main dishes range from $16.99 to $25.99, children’s sets from $12.99 to $14.99, and each of the three listed desserts costs $9.99. Prices can change before your visit.
The useful question is not simply how much a meal “usually” costs. It is what your chosen combination includes. This guide shows transparent calculations and explains where souvenirs, beverages and meal components can change the comparison. Check the full menu for the complete item list.
Start with a food-only subtotal
Choose the main dish first, then add the drink and any dessert or starter you actually want. Avoid starting from a single average restaurant budget: it can conceal the difference between a pasta meal and a main dish with multiple optional purchases.
The verified main-menu range excludes salads, children’s sets and collectibles. It is a category range, not a promise that every adult can eat for the lowest number. Similarly, a dessert price does not represent a meal price, and the smallest listed drink price should not be assumed to apply to every beverage.
For a group, write one line per diner. Shared extras can sit on a separate line so they are counted once. This simple distinction prevents a shared appetizer from being charged mentally to every person, or a specialty drink from disappearing into an unexplained “extras” allowance.
Three example meal combinations
| Example order | Calculation | Menu subtotal |
|---|---|---|
| Pasta and fountain soda | $16.99 + $5.00 | $21.99 |
| Mario Burger, fountain soda and one dessert | $18.99 + $5.00 + $9.99 | $33.98 |
| Bowser’s dish, lemon specialty drink and dessert | $25.99 + $10.00 + $9.99 | $45.98 |
These are examples using listed prices, not packaged offers. They exclude tax and any other applicable charges. The Bowser example does not include its optional souvenir bowl. The burger example does not include the vegetarian substitution surcharge. Availability and actual checkout prices still control the purchase.
Treat the three combinations as reference points for different ordering styles. They do not establish that one meal is enough food for every adult, or that the most expensive example is a better dining experience. Portion satisfaction and food preferences are individual considerations.

What the burger price already covers
Both listed adult burgers include truffle fries in their descriptions. If your plan is a burger and its included fries, do not add a second side merely because another restaurant might sell burgers separately. Read each complete item description before building the subtotal.
The vegetarian Mario option adds $2.00 to the listed burger price, producing a $20.99 item subtotal from the verified base. Ask staff about the actual preparation and dietary suitability. A surcharge confirms a price difference; it does not establish that every component meets a vegan or allergy requirement.
The Luigi Burger uses chicken and pesto rather than the beef-and-bacon build of the Mario Burger. Their identical listed prices make ingredients the main comparison here. For more detail on the food itself, use the themed dishes guide.
Souvenirs need a separate budget line
The soup listings show bowls included at $19.99. That creates an important distinction between the cost of a plain soup elsewhere and this particular menu purchase. We cannot subtract a supposed bowl value to invent a food-only price that the official listing does not provide.
Bowser’s Fireball Challenge lists a souvenir bowl for an additional $10.00. Adding that option changes its item subtotal from $25.99 to $35.99. Keep the bowl visible in the budget instead of calling the result an unexplained price increase for the same food.
The menu also lists collectible drink bottles at $20.00 each and a plateware set at $20.00. Ask what is included, whether any beverage is part of a bottle purchase, and what current refill terms apply. This guide does not infer those terms from the shape or name of a container.
A worked family subtotal
Consider two $18.99 adult burgers, one $14.99 children’s burger set and one $12.99 children’s pasta set. The food subtotal is $65.96. Four separately purchased $5.00 drinks bring it to $85.96. Two $9.99 desserts would bring that example to $105.94 before tax or other applicable charges.
This calculation deliberately treats the drinks as separate purchases. The children’s descriptions in the checked menu do not establish a bundled drink entitlement. Confirm current inclusions before paying; if a drink is included in the actual offer, adjust the calculation rather than buying another automatically.
The children’s section is marked for ages nine and under. This example assumes eligible diners. Read our family dining guide for a way to compare the two sets without assuming that every child wants the same food or accompaniments.
Compare value using what you will use
A higher-priced item with an included collectible is not automatically poor value, and an inexpensive item that leaves you needing another meal is not automatically economical. Compare the food, included sides and optional object with your own priorities. Avoid assigning resale values or claiming savings without a real comparable purchase.
Sharing can be a personal choice, but the menu does not give us a universal adult serving count for each dish. A one-pound meatball description is not evidence that it comfortably feeds a particular group. Plan around actual appetites and ask about sharing arrangements where necessary.
Likewise, we do not assume a passholder discount, promotion or bundle. Eligibility rules can vary. Apply a discount only after verifying its current terms for this restaurant and purchase; otherwise keep the undiscounted subtotal as your planning figure.
Keep taxes and trip costs distinct
The examples here do not calculate tax because the guide has not verified the applicable checkout treatment for every purchase. Leave a separate allowance and check the final total. Do not describe any of these examples as an all-in bill or a guaranteed maximum.
Park admission, transportation, parking and other purchases sit outside the food subtotal. The restaurant is inside Universal Studios Hollywood, so its menu prices should not be used as the cost of access to the venue. Dining arrangements also require separate attention from buying park admission.
Recheck before committing
Use the official Hollywood menu to refresh the prices near your visit. A dated screenshot can help with planning, but it does not lock a restaurant price. Current signs and staff confirmation take precedence over a saved guide.
If your total exceeds the budget, remove optional purchases one at a time: a collectible, an extra dessert or a specialty drink. This makes the tradeoff concrete. You can preserve the main meal that matters to you while choosing deliberately which additions deserve the remaining budget.
Finish with an itemized list, a separate allowance for tax and a flexible backup order. That is more useful than a broad promise that Toadstool Cafe is cheap or expensive, and it makes any change at the restaurant easier to understand.
